Amanda Wagner is the Project Assistant for the Certificate program and brings a wealth of experience in administration and coordinator roles within the healthcare industry. Amanda has a Bachelor’s degree in Community Health and Business Administration and is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Certificate program, providing ongoing support to the speakers and learners of each cohort.
Cathy Sheppard RN
Cathy Sheppard is a Research Coordinator for Pediatric Cardiac Critical Care at the Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, as well as the Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension Service. Cathy has worked as an RN in Pediatric Critical Care for the past 28 years and the last 14 in research as well. Cathy is the preceptor for the Certificate, collaborating on updating and amending Certificate content, offering her extensive expertise to the technical, regulatory, and operational aspects of clinical trials, and is a consistent presence to learners throughout the Certificate.
Mari Boesen MSc PMP
Mari Boesen is the Associate Director of the AbSPORU Pragmatic Clinical Trials Platform. She is tasked with planning, managing, and operationalizing the PCT Platforms’ various initiatives. Mari represents the PCT platform in the Leadership in Patient-Oriented Research: Pragmatic Clinical Trials certificate by providing both content and direction. She is also working on a number of patient recruitment and public awareness strategies, and is looking forward to pilot projects in innovative clinical trial methodology.
Melanie King Rosario RN MN
Melanie Rosario is the Associate Director in Calgary for the AbSPORU Career Development Platform and leads a number of major CD Platform initiatives, including the Certificate program and the Alberta SPOR Graduate Studentship program. Melanie is the team lead in Calgary for the CD Platform and works closely with the Associate Director in Edmonton, as well as the Platform Leads. Her background includes nursing, research, and project management experience in various clinical and academic institutions across Canada and overseas.
